Saini completed his BTech from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University in Uttar Pradesh. Later on, he went on to work for various companies leading media house or top IT firms.
Despite not being able to get admission to any IIT or NIT, Pradeep Kumar Saini is earning a package of Rs 50 lakh per annum. After earning his degree from a tier-3 college, he even struggled to crack the interview process for several top-tier organisations during campus placement. However, that did not stop him from becoming successful in life.
Saini completed his BTech from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University in Uttar Pradesh. Later on, he went on to work for various companies leading media house or top IT firms. “I failed to get into IIT and even NIT. I struggled to crack top tech companies during off-campus placements. I completed my BTech from tier-3 college and a tier-2 university. I was unplaced after my BTech. My career began at a small Delhi-based company as a web developer with a salary of Rs 5,400/month in 2008. I spent my first 6 years working for service-based companies,” he wrote on LinkedIn.

Later, in 2014, the 39-year-old joined a product-based company with a salary of Rs 8 LPA. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he was laid off and remained unemployed for three months. After working for 10 years in the IT industry, he reached a salary of Rs 50 LPA. He then went on to join a new company as an Engineering Manager and now, after 10 years in the IT field, he is working as a Senior Engineering Manager at a leading media company and “enjoying creating content on YouTube”.
“Today, I am drawing a handsome salary and am happy with that,” he further added.
What Is It That Helped Saini Achieve Success?
He credits his success to a never-give-up attitude and a commitment to learning from his mistakes. “I never gave up, and continually upskilled myself across various domains. Sticking to a plan, learning from my mistakes, and focusing on continuous improvement were essential. I meticulously tracked every step of my journey—both successes and failures—as well as the lessons learned, using detailed Excel sheets,” he explains.
