Ben and Hannah Huggins, based in Stanford and founders of New British Design, have collaborated with Louis Middleton, founder of the Kudhva campsite hotel, to develop a new off-ground tent, the K-Tent.

Designed to offer a portable and eco-friendly camping experience, the K-Tent features a lightweight structure elevated from the ground by adjustable tripod legs, allowing it to adapt to a variety of terrains.

The product is intended to offer a refined outdoor experience suitable for various settings, such as backyards, poolside retreats, glamping locations, festival environments, or wellness retreats.

According to a report by Home Crux, the K-Tent is constructed with a recycled aluminum framing that forms a hexagonal shape. Its outer shell is made from durable, heat-absorbing British Millerian canvas.

This design, which elevates the tent slightly off the ground, is intended to minimize the impact on the environment while providing a sustainable camping option. The assembly process for the tent is straightforward and takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes with two people.

Guests can access the K-Tent from two sides via non-slip ladders. Inside, the space accommodates two people comfortably, featuring triangular windows to allow for ventilation and natural light.

A hexagonal ply platform provides a designated space for guests to enjoy the surrounding landscape. The tent is accessed through a heavy-duty zip opening, offering a compact, cozy environment.

Kudhva, located in Tintagel, Cornwall, is known for its sustainable, off-grid accommodations that utilize solar energy for essential electrical needs.

The K-Tent follows this philosophy, offering a low-carbon footprint and enhancing the user experience with an emphasis on simplicity and comfort in nature.

After three years of field testing in various landscapes, the K-Tent is now available for purchase at an introductory price of $15,685 (£12,500), including mainland UK shipping and VAT. Additional purchasing information can be found on the Kudhva Kanvas website.
