This article contains potential spoilers for Fallout Season 2.

Fallout Season 1 featured Easter eggs from a fan-favorite video game location. Now, leaked set photos confirm that the series will continue to faithfully adapt this piece of franchise lore.

Fallout Season 2 will take place in New Vegas, based on new BTS photos. Shared in a Reddit post, the leak revealed two icons from Bethesda’s Fallout: New Vegas – the Welcome to Fabulous New Vegas sign and The Tops Hotel & Casino entrance. The Season 1 cliffhanger teased that’s where Hank MacLean went, and also where Lucy and The Ghoul are headed. New Vegas has divided franchise fans, however, and there was debate over its place in the lore. Bethesda Studio Design Director Emil Pagliarulo confirmed the game is canon, prompting sleuths to point out timeline discrepancies in the show.

Prime Video’s Fallout Timeline, Explained

This is how the Fallout series chronology plays out.

One photo featured the Freeside East Gate with its marker of metal frames and multicolored boards. In the game, Freeside is run by the Three Families and Mr. House, but the self-contained district is perpetually threatened to be overrun by the outside slums. One fan also shared a production photo of Dinky the T-Rex, a decaying roadside attraction in Novac. The town mascot adds to previous leaks of nearby landmarks like the Royal Hawaiian Motel and the Nuka Cola sign. New Vegas appears to be a priority location in Fallout Season 2, with many of the locations recreated in the adaptation.

Fallout Season 2 Could Introduce Canon Character With New Location

Fans can only speculate about Season 2’s plot, which revolves around brand-new characters. The show is grounded in lore with heavy references to Vault-Tec and the Brotherhood of Steel. Lucy MacLean is a Vault Dweller, The Ghoul is a non-feral ghoul, and Maximus is a Brotherhood squire turned paladin. The characters represent the franchise’s main archetypes, featured in all the video game installments. With New Vegas almost confirmed as a setting for Season 2, the show could also feature a Courier Six cameo. As the main protagonist in the video game, the character could also be a great addition to the main ensemble.

Fallout Makes a Big Change to the Game Lore and its For the Better

The Fallout TV show is an incredibly faithful adaptation, but its one major lore change is actually for the better.

Most of Fallout Season 2 could take place in New Vegas with its main characters headed in that direction. However, there’s still the mystery of the vaults, with Norm MacLean trapped in Vault 31, where Vault-Tec’s junior executives are cryogenically stored. It’s uncertain how the show would expand Norm’s story when he’s so separated from Lucy’s arc, but he’s become a fan-favorite and one of the show’s strongest protagonists. Actor Moisés Arias promised fans that Norm would find a way to get out.

“It doesn’t look good, but I hope that he sees something that we don’t, and that seems to be his specialty,” he told The Direct. “He really uses intelligence and this sort of science to get out of situations. [With] his father leaving, his sister leaving, and his mom hasn’t been there for a while. I think he’s gathered enough experience to get into the wasteland. Of course, it’s going to hit him hard. But he might figure his way around the wasteland.”

Fallout Season 2 is slated to premiere in 2026.
