Fans of the extremely popular No Game No Life anime series have received a disappointing update on the possibility of a second season, with the franchise’s creator responding directly to rumors regarding Season 2’s production.
No Game No Life creator Yuu Kamiya has dispelled recent rumors relating to a second season of the anime series. Via his X (formerly Twitter) account, he said, “Good morning. When I woke up, I had an incomprehensible number of DMs, but they were all fake, so I would appreciate it if you would not contact me about them.” The series manga artist Mashiro Hiiragi (alongside Kamiya) added, “I thought so. I was surprised for a moment, but then I realized there was no way we wouldn’t have known about it…”

No Game No Life Writer & Artist Respond to Season 2 Anime ‘Leaks’
The rumors originated from the @tokei3n account on X. It said that the anime’s original studio, Madhouse, had opted for a new strategy of making sequels; No Game No Life was the example provided. While the composition of No Game No Life‘s production committee is not publicly known, this almost certainly isn’t a decision Madhouse could make on its own. Nevertheless, in a recent interview with No Game No Life‘s novel and manga publisher Kadokawa, which also participated in the anime’s planning, the company said it will produce more sequels and episodes of popular series as opposed to just increasing the number of adaptations it’s involved in. @tokei3n has since deleted its account.
While Kamiya has debunked the new rumors, he has also been incredibly vocal about getting a second season. In 2023, he said he would also like to know if Season 2 was coming, adding that he’s been asked so many times “from all over the world, that now I can even know what they are asking me even without having to translate it.” In 2024, for the anime’s 10th anniversary, he simply said, “No Game No Life Anime’s 10th Anniversary. Please make Season 2.”
