Noosa’s three council-operated holiday parks are maintaining strong visitor numbers following a record-breaking year, with financial and occupancy figures indicating continued stability for 2024-25.

A recent report presented to Noosa Council’s Service and Organization Committee outlined the performance of Noosa River Holiday Park, Noosa North Shore Campground, and Boreen Point Campground.

More than 31,000 guests stayed at these locations in the first half of the financial year, averaging 173 visitors per night. The parks have collectively sold 42,777 nights, representing 51 percent of available site nights for the period.

Forward bookings also signal sustained interest, with 44,880 visitors already secured and a committed revenue of nearly $3.93 million, according to a report by Sunshine Coast News.

Additionally, bookings worth $1.37 million have been confirmed for the 2025-26 financial year.

The Noosa River Holiday Park remains the top performer, accounting for 22,181 nights sold so far, or 50.4 percent of last year’s total.

Noosa North Shore Campground has reached 12,567 nights (51.6 percent), while Boreen Point Campground has recorded 8,029 nights (50.2 percent).

“This surplus plays a vital role in supporting general rate revenue, reinforcing the financial sustainability of the Noosa Holiday Parks,” the report stated.

The parks have generated an operational surplus of $545,000 to date, representing 75 percent of the full-year budget target.

Total revenue stands at $2.46 million, which is 54 percent of the previous year’s earnings and 59.6 percent of the annual budget projection. Operational expenses have remained proportionate, at 56.3 percent of the annual allocation.

The ability of Noosa’s parks to maintain occupancy levels suggests that well-positioned destinations with strategic management remain resilient in an evolving market.

The parks’ management partner, Escape Parks, has played a key role in optimizing booking conversions, with the report stating, “This capability plays a crucial role in maintaining strong occupancy rates and financial performance.”

Investments in infrastructure and sustainability initiatives are also contributing to the parks’ appeal.

Recent improvements include solar street lighting at Noosa River Holiday Park, the installation of a permanent generator at Noosa North Shore Campground to ensure power supply continuity, and upgrades to the water supply system to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.

These enhancements align with a broader industry shift toward sustainable and resilient park operations, offering insights for operators looking to future-proof their own businesses.

With stable performance and ongoing capital improvements, Noosa’s holiday parks are positioned for another strong financial year, reinforcing their role in the local tourism economy while providing a benchmark for operators navigating the outdoor hospitality market.
