Nvidia’s latest GPUs, the RTX 5090 and the RTX 5080 are now available online and in-store at multiple retailers. While stock limitations persist across the board for Nvidia’s latest and greatest GPUs, the RTX 5090 is particularly notorious for being short on supply, something that was alluded to multiple times via both official channels as well as third party AIBs, many of which are already struggling to meet demand, especially for flagship versions of their GPUs, and come with significant price bumps over their respective Founder’s Edition MSRPs.
With multiple RTX 5080 and 5090 SKUs out in the wild before release, Nvidia’s site had remained mum regarding driver support until the GPUs officially launched earlier this week. Since then, Nvidia has released its Game Ready Drivers (GRD) version 572.16 which supports both new GPUs while bringing a series of optimizations to older models as well.

Nvidia’s GeForce Game Ready Driver 572.16: What’s New?
The latest Nvidia drivers not only add support for the RTX 5080 and 5090 at launch but also bring a plethora of upgrades for existing game titles, including native DLSS 4 support for the following:
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Alan Wake 2
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Star Wars Outlaws
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Newer unreleased titles such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance II are also beneficiaries of the latest driver update, even as titles like Spider-Man 2 recommend as much as Nvidia’s previous flagship GPU, the RTX 4090, to play the title with all its Ray Tracing bells and whistles, a preset it calls ‘Ray Tracing Ultimate’.
The update also fixes existing issues with G-Sync compatible monitors that tended to induce flickering when FPS dipped below 60 FPS, in addition to further quality of life updates (QoL) to titles such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Ubisoft titles that used its in-house Snowdrop engine.
The update is available to download directly via Nvidia’s site or via the Nvidia App, which replaces the now-deprecated Nvidia GeForce Experience on Windows PCs.

Nvidia’s RTX 5080 And RTX 5090: Supplies Remain Tight At Launch
With most retailers already indicating extremely limited supply at launch, Nvidia’s RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs remain extremely elusive with the latter enjoying a fraction of the availability of the former, often selling out immediately at brick-and-mortar stores even as retailers such as Newegg essentially sold out immediately.

Retailers such as Newegg have, as a result, aimed to land as many units as possible to retail consumers by sending out limited-release emails that cater to users who regularly buy hardware on-site, allowing them a better chance at scoring one of the newer RTX 5000 ‘Blackwell’ GPUs at launch.
Supplies are, however, incoming as indicated by AIB partners and Nvidia itself and the market should correct over time, allowing users a better chance at scoring the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 in the coming weeks.
