Pembrey Country Park’s campsite has been named the Best Campsite in South West Wales, a recognition that highlights its commitment to providing quality amenities and outdoor experiences.

The designation underscores the site’s efforts to maintain high standards in facilities, sustainability, and visitor satisfaction.

Situated on 500 acres of parkland with access to eight miles of sandy beaches, Pembrey Country Park has positioned itself as a key player in Welsh outdoor tourism.

With the award reinforcing its reputation, the site is now preparing to compete at the National Wales Tourism Awards on March 27, according to a report by the Tenby Observer

The honor not only brings prestige to the park but also serves as a benchmark for other operators in the industry looking to enhance their offerings.

Carmarthenshire County Council, which oversees the park, has announced upcoming improvements that align with industry trends and sustainability initiatives.

In 2025, new pay-as-you-go pitches will be introduced, following the allocation of Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) funding. This initiative aligns with broader environmental goals and the increasing demand for flexible camping options.

Additionally, a new amenity block will replace the existing facilities, modernizing the infrastructure to meet evolving guest expectations.

Cllr Hazel Evans, cabinet member for tourism, expressed pride in the park’s recognition, stating:

“This award is a testament to the hard work, passion, and dedication of our entire team at Pembrey Country Park. We are incredibly proud to receive this honor and look forward to representing South West Wales at the national awards.”

For outdoor hospitality professionals, Pembrey Country Park’s success highlights the value of continuous investment in facilities and guest experiences.

The park’s approach to sustainability and infrastructure development provides a model for operators seeking to adapt to market demands. As the industry evolves, integrating flexible site options and upgrading amenities could enhance guest satisfaction and long-term business viability.

With the national competition ahead, Pembrey Country Park’s recognition serves as a case study of how targeted improvements and strategic investments can position a campsite for industry acclaim.
