The City of Peterborough has finalized a renewed agreement with the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (ORCA) to continue managing operations at Beavermead Campground.
The partnership, which began in 2015, is reviewed every five years, with an option for a five-year extension.
Under the revised terms, ORCA will make an annual payment to the city to help cover maintenance costs.
The agreement also introduces a new revenue-sharing model, allowing ORCA to retain 10% of the campground’s gross revenue, with additional profits split evenly between ORCA and the city.
According to an article published by PTBO Today, Beavermead Campground offers a range of camping options, accommodating both seasonal and transient visitors.
The facility includes 18 unserviced campsites and 77 serviced sites with 30-amp or 50-amp hydro service and water hookups.
Each campsite is equipped with a fire pit and picnic table, with campers having access to showers and washrooms at the comfort station. The site also features a sanitary dumping station for added convenience.
For guests requiring accessible accommodations, the campground includes four 50-amp accessible campsites. These sites feature paved trailer pads, accessible picnic tables, fire pits, and are located near the comfort station, which has accessible showers and washrooms.
Beavermead Campground also provides visitors with access to nearby trails, beaches, and recreational areas along the Otonabee River. Its location and amenities make it a popular destination for campers seeking a mix of natural surroundings and modern conveniences.
