Points of interest in Red Dead Redemption 2 are places that Arthur Morgan writes about in his journal with a drawing and a map marker, and genuinely just areas of the map that offer the most interesting and peculiar sights – whether they’re fascinating or disturbing, there are some points of interest in Red Dead Redemption 2 that all players should find.

Red Dead Redemption 2: All Ghost Encounters, Ranked by Creepiness

If players are looking for something to scare them out of their cowboy boots, then all the ghost encounters in Red Dead Redemption 2 might do that.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is huge, and there are some points of interest and secrets on the map that some players might have never found themselves. With so many points of interest to be discovered, it’s time to take a look at the most peculiar of them all that offer an abundance of mysteries and disturbing revelations.

1

Manmade Mutant

A Twisted Creature Made from Animals and Humans

  • Location: West of Van Horn Trading Post in New Hanover, inside the abandoned Van Horn Mansion

Climbing up the abandoned Van Horn Mansion and entering through the window, Arthur Morgan is going to discover an ungodly sight, for it seems that some sick person is trying to create their own Frankenstein creature with vulture wings, a bear heart, a boar head, and a human skull.

The Manmade Mutant is a true beast that is tied up in a laboratory, riddled with experiment notes about trying to bring this creature to life. Luckily, the Manmade Mutant never does come to life, but this dire abomination holds many questions. Was it ever intended to be an enemy and is its creator still out there?

Giant Remains

The Skeletal Remains of a Giant

  • Location: Within a gap in a cliff, North of Strawberry in West Elizabeth, directly above the ‘T’ in ‘West’

Hiding out in the snowy caves and cliffs of West Elizabeth, Arthur can stumble upon the corpse of a giant lost to time itself. The remains are a truly mysterious sight, as it’s clear that the skeletal structure is that of a humanoid creature, as are the brown hairs on the head of the skeleton. However, what’s most strange is the size.

The Giant Remains are well over 9 foot tall, making ti far larger with thicker bones than any human could be. The skeleton is also next to a skull of an Ox, perhaps indicating the giant had a friend or a feast before it died. What it died of, and where it came from are unknown.

3

Tiny Church

A Very Small Church That Would Only Fit a Small Congregation

  • Location: East of Lakay in the Bayou Nwa, Lemoyne

The swamps of the Bayou Nwa are extremely dangerous. Filled with alligators, Lemoyne Raiders, and Night Folk, this isn’t an area where most should linger, especially at night. However, those who are seeking out religion can find it at the Tiny Church in the lower region of the Bayou Nwa close to Saint Denis, although it might be a bit of a tight squeeze for this outlaw to say a prayer.

The Tiny Church doesn’t make a lot of sense, which is why it’s so interesting. The detail from the church makes it seem like it’s not a gag, and the fact that desecrating it decreases honor indicates that there’s something more here that most aren’t aware of. Who built this Tiny Church, and who is small enough to visit here? Could the Bayou Nwa be home to fairies or even Smurfs?

4

Withered Arm

A Deceased Swamp Freak in Lemoyne

  • Location: South of Caliga Hall in the middle island that leads to Shady Belle, Lemoyne

Withered Arm is the name of this point of interest, where Arthur Morgan draws the corpse of a man with a withered arm. There’s more to this corpse than just a deformity, as the man’s head is seemingly that of a child’s, and the blue denim dungarees indicate a dress sense more familiar with Butcher Creek in New Hanover, especially with the outcast deformities shown.

8 Hidden Areas You Didn’t Know Existed In Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 features plenty of areas still unexplored by most players, from satanic secrets to literal aliens and UFOs.

Even in the game’s files, this pedestrian model is named Swamp Freak, meaning it’s not just an object to be found, but a person that perhaps could’ve once been interacted with. How this man died, and how he got to the middle of nowhere in the swamp, is unknown, but it would have been a curious one to meet this fellow.

5

Donkey Lady

A Decayed Corpse of a Woman with a Donkey Skull, Forced to Work a Mill

  • Location: Two Crows, a location found between the ‘U’ and ‘S’ in New Austin.

The Donkey Lady is one of the more tragic and mysterious sights found in Red Dead Redemption 2, and those who stumble into New Austin and find this abandoned work site will discover her body. The woman is strapped to a mill, forced to walk in a circle like a work mule, except this woman is wearing clothes and just has a disfigured skull, meaning she shouldn’t be subjected to this horrible line of work.

Closer inspection of the Donkey Lady shows that this poor creature was subjected to work until she died, which is obvious by the fact that she’s a skeletal corpse still chained to her post. A woman with a donkey-like face, it’s an oddity in New Austin that one can only wonder what her life was like before she died.

6

Giant Snake

The Corpse of a Giant Orange Python

  • Location: South of Pleasance, hanging by a tree by the ‘O’ in ‘Lemoyne’

Found South of the plague-riddled town of Pleasance is the corpse of a Giant Snake that hangs from a tree. Don’t worry about its size, or getting too close, for the Giant Snake has been dead for quite some time. It’s unknown who killed it, or how it even got here, but the fact that it spans so many meters means it could easily eat one of the Van der Linde horses whole.

Within the Red Dead Redemption 2 files, there are some extremely interesting pieces of cut content that fans will not want to miss out on knowing.

Many questions arise about the Giant Snake. Was it meant to be a Legendary Animal in Lemoyne, or was it just a strange creature for Arthur to gaze upon to see how weird the Old West was? The Giant Snake isn’t interactable, but it’s a curious sight indeed.

7

Blackwater Athletics Team

A Murdered Team of Athletes, Mutilated and Abandoned

  • Location: Found East of Aurora Basin in West Elizabeth, Between the final ‘L’ in ‘Tall Trees’ in a ditch

While not a point of interest that Arthur can interact with and draw, it’s still worth visiting the site of the Blackwater Athletics Team for its true mystery. This creepy grave is filled with corpses of Blackwater athletes, all wearing their uniforms, but with some of them having missing pants and strange masks.

The events surrounding the Blackwater Athletics Team is a mystery, but most come to the conclusion that it was the serial killer, Edmund Lowry Jr.. There are not enough answers to solve this mystery, but the fact that this site is just a short walk West of Manzanita Post and Beecher’s Hope, shows just how unsafe things can be in West Elizabeth.

8

Defaced Grave

No Ice in Hell for Felix Hawley

Location: North of Barrow Lagoon, found West of Lake Isabelle in Ambarino

Venturing into the cold and snowy region of Ambarino, players can stumble upon the dug-up and defaced grave of Felix Hawley. While his wooden grave reads that he was a hero to all, red paint across the headboard that reads: NO ICE IN HELL indicates otherwise, and the graverobbers and defilers who dug up the eternal rest of Felix Hawley have things to answer for.

Felix had a decent career as an ice skater, a veteran of war, and a father, so the fact that his corpse would be dug up and defiled brought his life into question before he passed on. Why would he be in Hell, and who holds a grudge against this man to leave his corpse exposed to the elements?
