The Pokemon Company has announced another collaboration between the Pokemon Trading Card Game and the Boss Coffee brand, celebrating a new Team Rocket set with the offer of unmissable, exclusive goodies. Boss Coffee is a brand of canned and plastic bottled coffee and coffee-flavored drinks in Japan distributed by Suntory, and the company has collaborated with the Pokemon TCG once before at the start of the year, offering nine different TCG-inspired pillows and an “evolving” Fuecoco jacket.
The Pokemon TCG has thrived since its 1996 debut in Japan and 1998 in the West, spanning over ten main series published originally by Magic: The Gathering distributor Wizards of the Coast before transferring to The Pokemon Company. The digital version of the trading card game Pokemon Pocket welcomed 2025 with a McDonalds collaboration. Fans could purchase a Happy Meal to earn TCG booster packs and redeemable Pocket-exclusive codes, which added to the IP’s long history of brand partnerships.

Circling back to the lucrative franchise’s rich history of partnerships, Pokemon has had a long list of collaborations during its fame. Singers Katy Perry and Post Malone helped celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary with the latter performing as a 3D model in a virtual concert. Pokemon also joined forces with Koei Tecmo’s turn-based strategy franchise Nobunaga’s Ambition, and since the games are based on Japan’s civil unrest during the Sengoku Period, it made for an interesting union.
