Reacher and Duffy know more about Teresa, while Neagley gets to know about her hit-man

In Episode 7 of Reacher Season 3, titled L.A. Story, Reacher and Duffy travel to Boston to visit Teresa Daniels’ ailing grandmother, hoping to gather more insight into Teresa’s past. As they step into the elderly woman’s modest home, they are met with warmth and quiet sorrow. She speaks fondly of her granddaughter, painting a picture of Teresa as a kind, intelligent, and strong-willed woman. Reacher listens intently, absorbing every detail, deepening his resolve to find her. Meanwhile, the conversation takes a personal turn when the grandmother curiously asks about Reacher and Duffy’s relationship. Both quickly dismiss any romantic implications, insisting that their partnership is strictly professional. The elderly woman merely smiles, perhaps unconvinced, but says nothing more on the matter. As their visit comes to an end, she makes one heartfelt request—she asks them to continue searching for Teresa, no matter the challenges ahead. Her words carry the weight of desperation and hope, reinforcing the stakes of their mission. With renewed determination, Reacher and Duffy leave Boston, ready to follow the next lead.
Meanwhile, Neagley tracks down Costopolis in Chicago, determined to get answers about the hit on her. She corners him in a secluded alley, gun in hand, demanding the truth. With no escape, Costopolis confesses that Julius McCabe ordered the hit. However, his fear turns into shock when Neagley calls McCabe by his real name—Frances Xavier. Realizing she knows more than expected, Costopolis reveals a chilling backstory. Five years ago, Quinn established his empire in Chicago by seizing control of a family-run export business. When the family refused to be controlled and threatened to expose him, they were brutally eliminated. Once Quinn secured his position, he left for Maine and started another operation under the guise of Bizarre Bazaar, a rug company owned by Zachary Beck. Beneath its surface, Quinn was running an illegal arms trade. Costopolis warns that if Quinn is ordering hits again, something dangerous is in motion, and the family in Maine could be next. With the information she needs, Neagley lowers her weapon but delivers a brutal punch before walking away.
Quinn’s colleague gets trapped by Reacher, Beck realizes he needs Reacher’s help

Finally, Reacher and Duffy reach Los Angeles to gain more information. While investigating, the duo finds out that they need to go before a man who deals with McCabe, aka Quinn, and get more information about Teresa. Reacher understands Duffy’s situation and prioritizes finding Teresa because of her sincerity. They end up kissing each other. The next morning, they meet Darrien, the guy who deals with McCabe, and when he tries saying that they don’t have the warrant to take him away, Reacher says that he needs to come with them or else they’ll arrest him for pushing a DEA Agent, which is considered a felony. The trio reaches Darrien’s gallery and searches for more information. Reacher threatens him to tell the truth, or he will tell the authorities that Darrien threatened a doctor with violence if he didn’t report that Darrien had severe arthritis in both his knees. Although Darrien says that he never threatened the medical professional, Reacher said that the doctor said something similar, but he changed his story when the authorities told him that his license would be canceled in wire fraud charges. So, the doctor would now say whatever Reacher and Duffy want him to say. The duo tells him to call Beck with cash and reach a certain location. Darrien thought that he was out of danger now, but Reacher and Duffy had different plans, calling the DEA Agents inside his gallery for a thorough search.
On the other hand, Beck reaches the location only to find Neagley there. Neagley tells Beck that Reacher sent her here so that he and his son, Richard, could be saved. Beck reveals that he has nothing to do with Reacher because he put his family in danger. However, Neagley tells him that Reacher is the only man who can save his family. She asks him about the upcoming drop, but Beck doesn’t know anything about it. Beck revealed that McCabe doesn’t believe him now and wants him to focus on his already-planned birthday party. Beck wants to cancel the party, but McCabe, aka Quinn, believes that if the party is canceled, things will go from bad to worse. When Neagley thinks that Beck knows nothing about the deal, she begins to leave. However, Beck tells her that the buyers are flying in from Yemen for the exchange. Neagley tells Beck to know more details about the exchange so Reacher and the team could do anything to stop McCabe. Their conversation ends with Beck telling Neagley that his son is clean and should not face the wrath.
Duffy, Reacher, Neagley, and Guillermo get together to discuss their next plan. Reacher believes that this exchange might be the reason for a terrorist attack, and they need to do something really soon. A few moments later, Neagley and Reacher talk to each other, with Reacher apologizing for involving her in this dangerous mission. To which, Neagley replies that she got involved the moment those people came for Reacher. On the other hand, Reacher made it clear that Neagley is really important to him.
The ATF joins the investigation, but Quinn is one step ahead of them

Elsewhere, Beck talks to his son, Richard, and tells him how much he loves him. Meanwhile, he strikes up a conversation with McCabe about the buyers landing in Maine. When Beck asks him for more information about the exchange, McCabe asks why he wants more information about this and if he is planning to do something against him. To which, Beck says no and McCabe tells him to get out of his office. After leaving the office, he calls Reacher and tells him more about the exchange. He tells Reacher that the exchange will happen at the Bullhead Salvage Yard and wants him to take care of it, because if he doesn’t do that, he and Richard will be dead. Reacher tells Duffy about the exchange, who tells him they are bringing in ATF for this entire mission because she didn’t hear him mention anything about saving Teresa. Reacher gets agitated and says that he will keep his promise, but killing Quinn is also a priority for him. Guillermo tells him that Quinn will face justice for what he has done, but Reacher doesn’t want justice, he wants vengeance. Duffy went on to tell the ATF everything and Reacher was present there. In the meeting, it is decided that the ATF will handle the exchange now and Reacher is advised to stay with the DEA agents. Reacher is agitated with what he said and just left the room.
The episode ends with the ATF agents and Reacher, along with his team, reaching the venue. Duffy tells the leader of the ATF agents to protect Teresa and get her to a safe location. The ATF agent promises her and moves ahead with the mission. However, Reacher has different plans and is ready to execute Quinn with a massive gun. Duffy tells him to not do anything stupid, but Reacher tells her that she would have to kill him to get the gun out of his hands. While taking the position with a sniper rifle, Reacher calls Neagley and talks about what he is going to do. When Reacher tells him that the buyers are here at the yard, Neagley says that she has been following the buyers on a road surrounded by the woods. Reacher understands that the exchange is not happening in the yard, but actually inside Beck’s house, and Beck doesn’t even know about it.
The penultimate episode of Reacher Season 3 ends on a brilliant and thrilling note, promising an action-filled finale. Will Reacher accomplish this mission? The answer will be given next week.
