Outdoor enthusiasts and RV shoppers have been gathering at Westerner Park for the past four days as the Red Deer RV Show, which began on February 20, concludes today, February 23.
According to an article by Red Deer Advocate, six major local dealerships—Woody’s RV World, Vellner Leisure Products, Rangeland RV and Trailer Sales, Fraserway RV, Allan Dale RVs and Trailers, and ArrKann Trailer and RV—once again joined forces to host what they proudly call the “Biggest Little RV Show on Earth.”
The annual event is a premier destination for camping and RV enthusiasts, providing a first look at the latest models and trends in the industry.
According to Mitch Vellner, president of Vellner Leisure Products, the show serves as a crucial indicator for the year ahead.
“This event is primarily about showcasing new RV models. It sets the tone for the season, giving dealerships an idea of what to expect in terms of customer interest and sales,” Vellner said.
“It’s also a great opportunity for us to establish key connections that will shape the rest of the year,” Vellner added.
Visitors can explore a variety of RVs, including trailers, fifth-wheels, and motorhomes, while browsing a wide selection of accessories, tools, and outdoor gear from various vendors.
The event also offers expert advice and insights for both seasoned RVers and newcomers looking to embrace the lifestyle.
The Red Deer RV Show has been a staple in the community for more than three decades. Vellner shared how the event first came to be, crediting his father for bringing together local dealers to create a collaborative show.
“Back then, dealerships in Calgary and Edmonton were hosting major RV events, and my father saw an opportunity to do something similar in Red Deer. Everyone worked together, pooling marketing efforts and resources, and that spirit of collaboration continues today,” he said.
Each year, the participating dealerships meet in the fall or early winter to discuss logistics, coordinate responsibilities, and confirm Westerner Park as the venue. This year, the show will take place in Exhibition Hall, along with the Parkland, Prairie, and Neeralta Pavilions.
Doors open from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 21, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 23.
