RED Mountain Resort in Rossland, British Columbia, announced plans to open Phase 1 of its new lift-serviced bike park in the summer of 2025. The multi-phase project aims to establish RED as a four-season adventure destination, adding to its reputation as a premier ski resort.
The bike park, developed in collaboration with Whistler-based Gravity Logic, will be constructed over four years around the Silverlode Chair. The project will include single-track, jump, and flow trails designed to accommodate riders of all skill levels, according to a resort statement.
“We are thrilled to announce the development of the RED Mountain Bike Park, marking not just a pivotal moment in our commitment to offering year-round adventure, but building upon and supporting the already deep culture of biking here in the region,” Howard Katkov, CEO and owner of RED Mountain Resort, said, as reported by Bike Mag on February 11.
Construction for Phase 1 began on July 2, 2024, and the first section is expected to open in June. The initial trails will feature a mix of new and refurbished routes designed to offer a variety of experiences for beginner and advanced riders alike.
“RED’s vision for the bike park is to create a destination where beginners feel like experts and seasoned riders can still be humbled,” the resort said in a statement. “A place where progression is celebrated and every rider is challenged at their level.”
As part of the initiative, RED Mountain has partnered with Rocky Mountain Bikes to offer a dedicated rental fleet. This addition is expected to enhance accessibility for visitors while providing equipment suited to the new trails.
“The development of RED Mountain’s Bike Park over the next few years will build on this foundation while continuing to look toward the future,” the resort noted.
