This year, San Antonio’s Culinaria Restaurant Week is taking the “wine” in wine and dine a step further.
For the first time since it launched in 2010, San Antonio’s Restaurant Week will extend into nearby Fredericksburg. The bi-annual event, during which more than 100 local restaurants will offer special three-course prix-fixe menus to diners, runs from Jan. 18 through Feb. 1.
Participating San Antonio restaurants include très french hotspot Brasserie Mon Chou Chou, outdoor oasis Elsewhere Garden Bar and cozy Belgian bistro La Frite.
Joining the fray will be several select restaurants from winery-rich Fredericksburg, Texas — located about an hour and a half northwest of San Antonio. Confirmed eateries from the Hill Country town include wine-focused Ocotillo and upscale rustic haven Cabernet Grill.
These and other local restaurants will offer limited-time fixed menus starting at $20 and $30 options for lunch, and increasing to $35, $45 and $55 for dinner.
Select spots will also offer to-go options, and others will also offer upgrades such as extra courses, and wine, cocktail and beer pairings for an additional cost.
“Culinaria Restaurant Weeks is a longstanding tradition that pays homage to our city’s culinary talent,” Culinaria President and CEO Suzanne Taranto-Etheredge said in a news release.
“Culinaria Restaurant Weeks provides the chance to sample the cuisine of some of the Alamo city’s top eateries, bistros and local favorites while enjoying specially curated tasting menus and pairings at an amazing price,” she said.
Culinaria is a local nonprofit that has been promoting San Antonio as a culinary destination since 2000. The nonprofit hosts a collection of community and educational events throughout the year such as HalloWine and Titans of Tailgate. Proceeds from events directly support the organization and its mission.
