Registration is now open for the RV Technical Institute’s Level 3 Appliances specialty course, scheduled for April 29 through May 1, at the Institute’s facility in Elkhart, Indiana. The workshop provides 24 hours of training, covering key appliance systems from leading manufacturers.
The course is designed for technicians who have already achieved Level 2 certification or higher. Participants who do not meet the prerequisite will have their registration canceled, and the fee will not be refunded.
According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, training sessions will be led by industry suppliers, including Truma, Furrion, Coleman-Mach, and Airxcel. Instruction will cover appliances such as water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, and refrigerators, with each module focusing on specific brands and technologies.
Truma will provide eight hours of instruction, covering water heaters, air conditioning, and furnace systems, including the Combi unit. Furrion’s sessions will focus on refrigerators, tankless water heaters, and air conditioning units.
Coleman-Mach will also present a 1.5-hour module on basic air conditioners, while Airxcel will provide training on its Suburban product line, including traditional water heaters, furnaces, and instantaneous water heaters.
The workshop is part of RVTI’s expanded Level 3 training series, which now offers two sessions per specialty in 2025. The second appliances workshop is scheduled for later in the year.
By completing this course, technicians earn a Level 3 Specialty certification in appliances. Those who complete all five Level 3 specialty workshops can qualify for Level 4 Master Certification.
The program aims to provide RV technicians with advanced skills and hands-on experience, aligning with the Institute’s broader initiative to improve service quality across the industry.
Launched in 2024, the Level 3 workshop series was designed to streamline the certification process and provide structured opportunities for technicians to enhance their expertise.
Last year, only one appliances-focused training session was offered, but due to demand, the Institute has doubled the number of workshops for each specialty.
