Scandal star Katie Lowes has some hilariously brutal advice for her husband — the aforementioned The Bear actor — should he get jealous watching any steamy onscreen sex scenes involving his wife.

During an appearance on Zach Braff and Donald Faison‘s comedy podcast, Fake Doctors, Real Friends With Zach and Donald, Lowes was asked about Scandal, which famously called for a lot of intimate scenes among the characters, and if her husband had any jealousy towards her “fake TV sex.”

“You know, we get asked that a lot,” Lowes admitted. “And, you know, when he married me, he felt like, oh, s—, I’m kind of falling for the girl that always has a love story surrounding her, and this is just going to be a part of this. And he doesn’t really get that kind of part, but he actually has [gotten jealous]. He has now.”

Unfortunately for Shapiro, the actress has no sympathy for her husband when it comes to her steamy scenes. “He’s just gotta f—ing close his eyes and deal with it, man,” she joked. “I mean, the check clears, you know? Like, the check clears. Like, get over it. I mean, that’s my job and, like, it’s f—ing awkward anyway.”

To be fair, Lowes said any jealousy her husband might have had during her time on Scandal was probably curtailed somewhat by who her character, Quinn, was having sex with. “I think on that show I was very lucky to be paired with a much older gentleman, George Newbern [who played Charlie], that we love and is a dear friend, and he probably wasn’t much threatened by,” Lowes said, adding to clarify, “although he’s a very handsome catch for everybody listening, and he’s happily married and blah blah blah.”

She added that her other main love interest on the show that she “had dirty, dirty sex scenes with” was played by Guillermo Diaz, who, as she pointed out, is an openly gay man.

Elsewhere in the podcast, the Waitress star talked about making her Broadway debut in the musical and how she relied on her experience of giving birth to remind herself nothing was impossible when she was feeling nervous during rehearsals. She also discussed how to get ready for a show in 18 days, her love of Smash, and how her side hustle Schappy Pretzel took off during the pandemic.
