Wales have suffered a late Six Nations injury worry with Liam Williams a doubt to face Italy on Saturday.
The veteran full-back has been struggling with a knee injury sustained against France in the opening game.
Williams did not take part in the team’s final training session in Rome on Friday with the Welsh management saying his workload was being managed.
But there are concerns the 33-year-old will not recover in time for the crunch Six Nations game at Stadio Olimpico.
It would be a major blow for Warren Gatland to lose his most experienced back for such an important game.
Blair Murray has been lined up to replace Williams, having played all three Tests during the autumn, including at full-back against South Africa.
Murray trained at full-back on Friday, while Tom Rogers has also filled that role for Scarlets this season.
Gloucester youngster Josh Hathaway would most likely be promoted to the bench.
