There are plenty of places to get a great meal or a fantastic drink all over the world, but there are just a few that offer a stellar place to snap a few Instagram pictures, too.
In early January, The Luxury Travel Book released its list of the top 50 destinations around the world for luxury dining. The list began with a handpicked seed list by its team for its outstanding culinary service. They then analyzed each location’s fine dining offerings and identified the most visually stunning Michelin-star restaurants by looking at each restaurant’s Instagram hashtags and calculating their social media mentions.
After doing all that work, the team named Sketch, an art gallery meets restaurant in London as the most beautiful dining destination in the world.
“Sketch in London came in first place, renowned for its whimsical pink dining room and avant-garde design,” the team wrote in their findings. “The restaurant’s striking interiors blend art and dining and create an immersive experience.” It noted that the restaurant also garnered more than 95,000 Instagram posts under #SketchLondon, each “celebrating its unique charm.”

Helmed by chef Pierre Gagnaire, the restaurant has gained a whopping three Michelin stars for its “complex” dishes that offer “mind-blowing detail,” according to the Michelin review. “Each element is always exceptionally cooked, and the original combinations are brilliantly conceived,” the review added. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the restaurant is a joyous burst of color, texture, and art by artists as renowned as the restaurant’s chefs. Just make sure to book early if you want a table during your getaway to London, as this spot fills up fast.
“The afternoon tea is definitely notable for the aesthetics — it feels like you’re stepping into a wonderland,” Susmita Baral, an editor at T+L said. “It’s hard not to snap pics of the space and its equally photographable bathroom.”
As for other places that will satisfy all your senses, The Luxury Travel Book named Eleven Madison Park in New York City as the second-most beautiful fine dining restaurant, known for its “sleek, elegant ambiance and refined luxury.” The three-Michelin-star restaurant gained its second-place spot thanks to 46,300 Instagram posts showcasing its sophisticated interiors.
It was followed by Osteria Francescana in Italy with 41,200 mentions, Pierre Gagnaire in Paris with 31,800 mentions, and The Jane in Belgium with 26,700 mentions, rounding out the top five.
As for which city offers the highest number of fine dining destinations, that honor goes to Tokyo, which the team said is home to 170 Michelin-starred restaurants that have earned an astonishing 220 Michelin stars. And odds are all of them are Instagram-worthy, too.
