A Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 player shared an Easter egg they spotted in the action RPG honoring Bethesda’s popular The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Since Skyrim is such an iconic fictional feat, the amount of memes and references that have accumulated from fans’ admiration of the title is vast, and new projects like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is continuing to fly the flag for the medieval fantasy genre.

Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver released the anticipated sequel in February 2025, and the game’s premise is a direct continuation of the 2018 predecessor’s narrative. Players follow Henry combating the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund and the successor title will conclude the character’s story. Despite the open-world RPG selling one million copies within its first 24 hours and receiving an 89 average score from Open Critic, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 creative director Daniel Vavra had to defend the game against negative reviews.

One fan takes to social media to share a fun discovery about horses in Warhorse Studios’ popular RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Posted on Reddit by FIRSTODST1, a screenshot was shared on the Kingdom Come subreddit showing Henry clad in armor and speaking of another character who suffered a familiar injury. “I heard of a bloke who took an arrow to the knee,” Henry recalled in the screenshot, which is a clear reference to the “Arrow in the knee” meme from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, similar to another Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Easter egg featuring Elden Ring’s Let Me Solo Her. The internet meme features a popular line delivered by NPCs who act as guards, saying “I used to be an adventurer like you. Then I took an arrow in the knee.”

The Reddit community was amazed to see the reference and applauded games of this ilk for including Easter eggs that are delivered in good taste by not outstaying their welcome or being too on the nose. Once players acquire a bow in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, they’ll realize how tricky it is to shoot someone in the knee, but the fictional event at least produced an iconic meme in the gaming community that’s being honored over a decade later.

Warhorse Studios’ sequel not only has notable Easter eggs sprinkled into gameplay, but Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’s NPC sliding bug at least gives players a good laugh while navigating the early 15th-century setting. Other players have reported similar instances affecting their experiences, including floating sheep and a problem with horses’ speed while riding. Bugs in games of this scale are not uncommon and often add to the overall positive vibe of gameplay, but these bugs will likely be ironed out within an upcoming patch.
