Time to think ahead to your end-of-the-year travel and get ready for new Southwest routes this winter and holiday season.
Southwest Airlines is bringing back routes that have been dormant, giving travelers more options to travel to California and Florida. Relaunched routes include Eugene Airport (EUG) to San Diego International Airport (SAN), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Will Rogers International Airport (OKC) in Oklahoma City, Omaha Airport (OMA) to San Diego International Airport (SAN), Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers, and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Tampa International Airport (TPA).
The airline is also expanding routes from Nashville, and next month will launch new routes from Nashville International Airport (BNA) to Albany International Airport (ALB), Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN), Memphis International Airport (MEM), and Tulsa International Airport (TUL), as well as re-launching previous routes from Nashville to Albuquerque International Sunport (ABQ) and Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) in Providence, RI.
During the Thanksgiving season Southwest will also add routes from Nashville International Airport (BNA) to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and El Paso International Airport (ELP).
Southwest Airlines has been going through changes recently, doing away with their open-seating policy and ending their free checked bags allowance.
