A new partnership between Sugar Creek Golf Course & Banquet Center and Oak Valley Golf Course and Resort is expected to streamline golf course operations and enhance visitor experiences.
The agreement, announced in January, places Sugar Creek owner Sorkis Webbe in charge of both golf courses while Roger Grobe, general manager of Oak Valley, continues to oversee the resort’s other amenities, including a water park, banquet hall, restaurant, RV park, campground, and fishing lake.
For business owners in the outdoor hospitality sector, the collaboration highlights an evolving strategy in multi-use property management—leveraging shared resources to optimize guest capacity and drive operational efficiency.
Webbe noted that a primary benefit of the partnership is improved scheduling for golfers, allowing players unable to secure tee times at one location to book at the other.
“We have an overabundance of tee time requests,” Webbe said in a report by My Leader Paper.
“We sometimes cannot accommodate all the players. At those times, we can now offer them tee times at Oak Valley. It works vice versa. If Oak Valley is booked, they can check to see if Sugar Creek has open tee times.”
The integration of services between the two facilities also presents new revenue opportunities, particularly through the introduction of dual memberships.
These memberships grant access to both courses and Oak Valley’s additional amenities, appealing to a broader audience of recreational visitors and long-term guests.
Such cross-utilization models could serve as a case study for outdoor hospitality operators looking to maximize property potential.
Webbe, who has made significant improvements at Sugar Creek over the past nine years, plans to implement similar upgrades at Oak Valley.
Grobe expressed optimism about the changes, stating, “We’ve seen the good things they’re doing at Sugar Creek, the groundskeeping. He’s bringing his grounds crew to Oak Valley. We’re looking forward to a good year here with him and his team.”
With outdoor recreation facilities increasingly focusing on diversified offerings, the Sugar Creek-Oak Valley partnership reflects a growing trend of collaboration between businesses to improve guest experience, optimize resources, and enhance profitability.
For RV parks, campgrounds, and resort operators, such models demonstrate the potential for strategic alliances in a competitive market.
