Writing to you from Atlanta, where members of the EW team are moderating and attending panels as part of Savannah College of Art and Design’s annual SCAD TV Fest. With everything going on in the world, it’s been such a delight to spend a week celebrating a medium that allows us to escape from the literal and figurative fires. (Side note follow-up to last week’s note: My Amazon jacket shopping worked out!)  —Patrick Gomez, Editor-in-Chief

Super Bowl LIX (a.k.a. “licks”) is shaping up to be one of the most climactic and star-studded in recent history — and not just when it comes to the commercials! Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are set to lead the Kansas City Chiefs as they face off against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Kendrick Lamar has teased a SZA appearance at his highly anticipated halftime show, and the pregame promises Louisiana natives Jon Batiste, Ledisi, and more. You can join Swifties as they pause every crowd shot looking for Kelce’s paramour, Taylor Swift, in the stands on Feb. 9. —Ryan Coleman, News Writer

Sanaz Toossi’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play that tackles the cross-section of identity and language has finally made its way to Broadway, taking us into an Iranian classroom as four Farsi-speaking adults study for an all-important English exam. This insightful cross-cultural examination definitely passes with flying colors. —Dalton Ross, Editorial Director

“Worst Cooks in America”

Tiffany Pollard on ‘Worst Cooks in America’.

Food Network

Who knew I needed to see Tiffany “New York” Pollard breaking down a chicken? Just like the food Rachel Reilly Villegas makes on it, this reality “Heroes and Villains” celebrity season of the Food Network staple isn’t “good,” but it sure is fun. —P.G.

Now through Feb. 9, Film at Lincoln Center is screening The Innocents, Great Expectations, The Eve Before Ivan Kupala, The She-Butterfly, and more — any gothic horror fan’s dream curation. —Morgan Sanguedolce, Video Producer
