On April 2, Nintendo shared more details about the Switch 2 console and accessories, including the first look at the Switch 2 Pro Controller. Starting at $79.99, the Switch 2 Pro Controller will have features like HD Rumble, GL and GR buttons that can be mapped, and a 3.5 mm audio jack that supports 4-pole stereo earbuds and headsets.

The April 2 Nintendo Direct livestream focused entirely on its upcoming console. The Switch 2 will launch worldwide on June 5 at $449 for the base edition, which will include the 256GB console, Joy-Con 2 Controllers, the Dock, an HDMI cable, and a USB-C power adapter to get users started. For $499, a bundle with both the Switch 2 and a digital voucher for Mario Kart World will also be available, a $50 increase over the base model. Nintendo stated that pre-orders for the Switch 2 system can be done via email registration, which may give gamers a way to obtain the sought-after console without dealing with scalpers.

The Switch 2 looks to improve upon its predecessor, with support for 4K resolution games and upgrades to existing Switch titles like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. How the Switch 2 Pro Controller will hold up when compared to the original device remains to be seen.
