Travelers have new data to avoid cancelled or delayed flights, thanks to a report that reveals which airlines were the most punctual in February. The analysis from aviation analytics company Cirium spotlights the on-time performance of flights in the United States and around the world.
Southwest Airlines held the top spot with the highest on-time arrival rate in the U.S. of 82.27 percent, with a completion factor of 99.56 percent of 102,457 flights. Spirit Airlines was second in on-time performance, but operated a significantly lower number of flights, with just over 17,000.
Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and American Airlines took the third, fourth, and fifth spots respectively. The bottom of the list was Air Canada with 59.97 percent and WestJet with 58.32 percent of on-time arrivals in North America.
More than 13,500 flights were cancelled in February 2025 in the United States, according to the report, which was released by aviation analytics company Cirium. The company tracks everything from flight schedules to new routes, and says they monitor approximately three million flights each month to produce the on-time result rankings.
Globally, Aeromexico was the most on-time airline, with nearly 93 percent of all of their flights arriving on-time, and 99.8 percent of flights completed, meaning they were not cancelled. Iberia, Qatar Airways, British Airways, and Lufthansa rounded out the top five globally.
For travelers planning to visit Europe, the most on-time airline was Iberia, followed by Austrian, Air Europa, Vueling, and SAS.
The report also revealed the most on-time airports, where Doha Hamad International Airport in Qatar held the lead spot for the most on-time departures followed by Mexico City Benito Juarez International Airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport, Riyadh King Khalid International Airport, and Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
