Luxury RV living is evolving beyond traditional expectations, offering a blend of comfort, community, and upscale convenience.
Leading this transformation is Seagrass RV Resort in Rockport, Texas, a premier destination with high-end accommodations and amenities near popular vacation spots.
In an exclusive interview, owner Jason Roberts shared insights into what makes Seagrass RV Resort a standout choice, the challenges of bringing such a vision to life, and the exciting plans shaping its future expansion.
A Coastal-Inspired Retreat with Premium Amenities
Seagrass RV Resort spans over 20 acres and currently features 154 sites. “We wanted something to be coastal and obviously for Rockport that represented the community,” Roberts said when discussing the resort’s name.

“One of the things that popped up was Seagrass. We thought it had a great name and matched being closer to the coast.” The resort’s branding reflects its strong connection to the coastal environment, appealing to travelers looking for a scenic and tranquil setting.
Beyond its name, Seagrass RV Resort offers more than just a place to park an RV. “Most of our sites are astroturfed, so there’s grass with less dirt year-round,” Roberts explained.
Many of the sites at Seagrass RV Resort feature outdoor tiki hut cabanas, offering residents and guests ample shade. The resort also includes a $2-million lazy river pool, which is regarded as one of the finest in Rockport.
Additional amenities enhance the guest experience, including a clubhouse, boat and RV storage, and outdoor grilling areas.
Seagrass RV Resort’s approach aligns with findings from the first-ever MC Camper Compass Report titled “Boosting Camper Stays: Key Strategies to Revive Campground Reservations.” The report emphasizes the importance of modern facilities, including comfortable lodging, pools, internet access, and clean restrooms, in attracting more campers.

Additionally, the report highlights the value of water-related activities, community gatherings, and onsite entertainment in encouraging longer stays. Seagrass RV Resort’s lazy river pool, outdoor gathering spaces, and recreational opportunities reflect this strategy, providing guests with both relaxation and engaging experiences that foster a sense of community.
Seagrass RV Resort caters to a diverse demographic. “We have a little mixture of both short-term and long-term guests,” Roberts noted. “We tend to get more seasonal, longer-term stays, especially during the winter. We get a lot of Winter Texans, and then as you get into the spring and summer months, you see more transient weekend or week-long stays.”
Sustainability, Expansion, and the Future of Seagrass RV Resort
What truly sets Seagrass RV Resort apart, according to Roberts, is its pristine condition and strong focus on guest experience. “We have one of the newest parks in the area, so we are very clean, very safe, and very secure,” he said. “Our site is well-lit, well-manicured, and taken care of, so guests really feel like they’ve arrived at a location where they can relax and enjoy themselves.”
Building and managing an upscale RV resort also comes with its challenges. Roberts noted that construction presented several challenges, including maintaining good service and keeping the resort clean while work was still in progress.
“Now that construction is over, the main challenges have been dealing with weather events, like hurricanes,” Roberts told Modern Campground.
Sustainability is a growing consideration in the outdoor hospitality industry, and Seagrass RV Resort has incorporated eco-friendly initiatives into its operations.
“Water conservation is a priority,” Roberts explained. “That’s one reason we used as much astroturf as possible—it helps prevent sprinkler system water leaks and allows us to be more cautious with drinking water. We’re also looking at solar-paneled pumps to heat our pools as an alternative to propane and gas.”
As for the future, Roberts hinted at potential expansion. “This was a special project for us, and we’re very familiar with the area,” he said. “There will probably be more RV parks in our future, but it all boils down to where we want to spend our time. We love coastal regions, but we also enjoy other locations like the mountains.”
Another exciting aspect of Seagrass RV Resort is the option for guests to own RV lots. “We’re selling RV lots on April 12,” Roberts revealed. “This is unique in our space because a lot of people would love to have an RV investment, similar to an Airbnb beach house. Now, RV owners can get the same financial benefits of property ownership.”
