Olyphant is known for his role as Raylan Givens in Justified. He recently wrapped filming for FX’s Alien: Earth, the first television series to be a part of the iconic Alien franchise. Olyphant will play Kirsh in the sci-fi series, with the plot exploring the adventures of a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a group of soldiers after a mysterious space vessel crashes to Earth.

Lucky is produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Tropper Ink, created by Jonathan Tropper under his deal with Apple TV+. The BBC will soon adapt Anthony Horowitz’s latest murder mystery novel, with The Crown’s Lesley Manville and Tim McMullan set to star.

Apple’s press release featured a statement by Witherspoon talking about the book club, which helped lead to Lucky‘s upcoming adaptation. “Reese’s Book Club began with the goal of deepening connections — to the stories, to the storytellers and to the community we are building,” she said. “It is incredibly rewarding to be able to amplify these female-centric stories and their authors, see our community connect with them, then see them take on a whole new life on screen.”

Taylor-Joy echoed Witherspoon’s statement, praising her company Hello Sunshine, whose other credits include the Emmy Award-winning series The Morning Show. “Hello Sunshine continues to do a fantastic job of championing women’s voices, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team alongside Jonathan, Cassie and Apple TV+ to bring ‘Lucky’ to life,” Taylor-Joy said. In addition to Lucky, Apple also recently teamed up with Taylor-Joy for an Apple Original Film, The Gorge, which is described as a “high-action, genre-bending” movie.

Lucky does not have a release date at this time.
