Tina Knowles is feeling like one proud parent after her daughter Beyoncé won big at the 2025 Grammy Awards

In a preview clip from today’s episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, the businesswoman revealed that she started screaming in excitement when her daughter took home the golden gramophones for Best Country Album and Album of the Year earlier this month for her 2024 album, Cowboy Carter

“I was at her house and I was there to help [her] and Blue [Ivy Carter] get ready,” Knowles explained. “I was just not expecting it — I was really, really shocked.”

She wasn’t the only one who was in a state of disbelief over the wins — Beyoncé herself looked similarly surprised when she discovered that she’d won Best Country Album.

“I was sitting there with my granddaughter Rumi and my grandson Sir and for a second, we were just sitting there and then when she did this,” Knowles said, mimicking Beyoncé’s stunned expression, “I said, ‘Oh, it’s real!’ I couldn’t believe it.”

She admitted to host Jennifer Hudson that she was surprised by the turn events because “there’s been so many times that I thought that would happen and it didn’t.” While Knowles did not specify which award she thought her daughter should have won, this was Beyoncé’s first time winning Album of the Year despite being nominated several times in the past. Cowboy Carter winning Best Country Album also comes on the heels of it receiving zero nominations at the CMA Awards.

Knowles also poked fun at her granddaughter Blue Ivy and the way that she immediately stepped in to make sure her mom was ready to go after she won Best Country Album.

“It was funny because then they show Blue… and Beyoncé is sitting like this and Blue is saying ‘get up,’” she recalled as the audience laughed. “They call her the manager. She’s a bossy little Capricorn like her grandma.”

In addition to Best Country Album and Album of the Year, Beyoncé also took home the trophy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance alongside Miley Cyrus for their hit, “II Most Wanted.”

The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer, 43, currently holds the title of most-decorated artist in Grammys history, with 35 wins and 99 nominations to her name.
