Monster Hunter Wilds is the first game since the series began in 2004 that can easily be enjoyed without multiplayer. Setting Up Your Online Session

For example, they can set the maximum number of players from one to four. They can also set whether or not they want A.I. companions to join hunts, just players online, or a combination of the two.
Most importantly, there is the SOS Flare setting and players should turn this to automatic. This automatically sends an SOS to signal aid as soon as it becomes available on a mission whether it’s an optional side quest in Monster Hunter Wilds or a main quest. For solo players, they should switch the player type to just Support Hunters who don’t want the intrusion of others online.

A Seikret is a new addition in Monster Hunter Wilds that looks somewhere between a lizard and a Chocobo from the Final Fantasy series. Players will get one in the story and they can eventually customize its color and name. When playing with others online, it’s typically a good idea to jump off the mount and engage the monster directly. However, when playing alone, it’s a good idea to stay on the Seikret for certain fights. For example, the Balahara is a big sandworm that is extremely fast. Players can take away its speed advantage by circling it on their Seikret and attacking it. Of course, this works best with a ranged weapon like a bow, but overall this is a strategy players should consider whether they have A.I. assistants or not.

Whether players are engaging with the console versions or the PC version, the controller setup is a bit complicated for the game. That’s why solo players need to pay attention to their inventory. Monster Hunter Wilds players can go into their tent at home base or temporary pop-up tents in the field to switch out what items they want to appear in the inventory bar.
On the PS5 for example, players can cycle through items by holding L1 and then strafing through the collection using Circle. Once an item is selected, like a Mega Potion, they can consume it with Square. Alternatively, players can hold down L1 to bring up Radial Menus which can be customized in tents with shortcuts to items using the analog stick and this is an important strategy for solo players.

A.I. partners or not, players can end battles quicker if they capture marks in Monster Hunter Wilds which is a two-step process. Once the monster gets ensnared in the trap, players have to quickly throw down a Tranq Bomb or two which can be crafted with Sleep Herbs and Parashrooms. If players are lucky, they will end the fight and get more materials than if they killed the monster outright.

Players are not going to last long on a mission if they don’t keep a meal beforehand even with companions taking a few hits for the team. The starting HP and stamina gauge for players is laughable and one or two hits from a monster could spell the end of a hunt. Any type of meal prepped, whether it uses meat or vegetables will boost both gauges in Monster Hunter Wilds.

The more ingredients players throw into their pot, the longer their boost will last which can range from thirty to fifty minutes on average. The bow is the easiest weapon to attack Wounds with using the Focus Mode. The bow, in general, is a good weapon for beginners and players who plan to play the game solo. Also, solo players need to pay attention to a monster’s stats via the journal. Prepping the right gear before a mission will keep players safer like equipping fire-resistant gear against a monster like the Quematrice. Every little bit helps as no one can ever be over-prepared.
