Based on the 1898 novel by H.G. Wells, Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds takes Wells’ story and puts it in a more modern setting. The film, which starred Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning and Justin Chatwin as a family trying to escape the destruction of an alien invasion, is a massive blockbuster movie with a lot of heart and plenty of thrills.
War of the Worlds was a box office success, earning over 600 million dollars, and has been certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. The now-classic science fiction movie will soon be coming to streaming as early as next month. The movie is set to start streaming on Hulu on March 1.

Tom Cruise Still Gives War of the Worlds Co-Star Birthday Gifts After Two Decades
Dakota Fanning shares how Tom Cruise hasn’t forgotten her birthday once since meeting her on the set of the 2005 film War of the Worlds.
About War Of The Worlds
War of the Worlds by Steven Spielberg is a reimagining of the works of British author H.G. Wells, taking the central plot of the story and moving it forward to the twenty-first century. The story follows Ray (Cruise), whose divorce has given him partial custody of his two children, Rachel (Fanning) and Robbie (Chatwin).
After witnessing a strange storm and a monstrous octopus-like machine rise from the ground, Ray flees with his children to return them to their mother across the country. Along the way, the family learns that the aliens had likely long planned the invasion and that humanity is hopelessly outgunned.
Across their journey of war-torn America, Ray has to fight for survival, not just against the alien invaders but against the worst ravages of human indecency. The epic two-hour movie is not just a brilliant adaptation of Wells’ works, it’s a commentary on the state of war and the helplessness of innocents caught up between their invaders and themselves.

What Made it Such a Fantastic Film
War of the Worlds is considered as giving one of the best of Cruise’s performances and providing true elements of horror. The tripod machines that the aliens use inhabit the screen, but the true fear they exude comes from the horrifying sound they make. War of the Worlds is many things; a bleak commentary on the victims of warfare, a fantastic horror, a visual spectacle that stands up nearly two decades later, a heart-wrenching family story, and more.
All around War of the Worlds is a great watch, and will be for new and old audiences when it drops on Hulu on March 1st.
