Comedian Kunal Kamra’s jibe at Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for switching sides, made during a recent stand-up show, has sparked massive controversy, with Shiv Sena targeting him through threats and a police complaint. As the row intensified following the viral video, Shiv Sena workers vandalised a hotel in Mumbai where the show was recorded, and an FIR has been filed against Kamra. The video of Kamra’s act has sparked outrage among members of Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction. Following this, Shinde faction leader Rahul Kanal filed a police complaint at Khar Police Station. He accused Kamra of making derogatory remarks against Shinde during his performance at The Uni Continental Club in Khar West. The faction has termed Kamra’s act offensive. Reports of performance triggered an angry response from Shiv Sena workers, some of whom allegedly stormed the venue, questioned the club management and vandalized property.
