Warning: This article contains spoilers for the Severance season 2 finale, “Cold Harbor.”

Lumon’s Choreography & Merriment department has descended upon PaleyFest 2025.

Tramell Tillman, who portrays floor manager Seth Milchick on Severance, led members of the University of Southern California marching band in a surprise performance at the Apple TV+ thriller series’ live Q&A panel event at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on Friday night, just hours after the show premiered its season 2 finale.

The spectacle closely paralleled the unsettling celebration that Mr. Milchick throws in this week’s episode, in which Tillman’s character acted as a drum major stylishly fronting the company’s Choreography & Merriment players to commemorate a major milestone in the Macrodata Refinement department.

The sequence echoed — and one-upped — a similar sequence from the show’s first season, wherein Milchick leads a Music Dance Experience to reward Helly R. (Britt Lower) for her achievements in the office.

Lower praised Tillman and the marching band’s performance during a post-finale interview with Entertainment Weekly this week. “Tramell is a genius,” she said. “That marching band sequence really embodies, for me, the juxtaposition of the show — like this corporate world with this fully established band that they have at the ready. There’s something so wonderfully surreal about that. And at the same time, these characters are on this very human journey inside of this surreal moment.”

She continued, “I feel really proud to be a part of this incredible team, the cast and crew and the designers of our show, who have built and put so much sweat and thought into each aspect of this huge puzzle that we’re all building and solving at the same time.”

The PaleyFest performance came shortly after the rest of the Severance cast took the stage for the panel. When Tillman failed to arrive upon being introduced with his castmates, director Ben Stiller explained that the actor sometimes “goes off the grid,” reported Variety.

News of Severance‘s renewal for a third season arrived almost immediately after season 2 concluded, and creator Dan Erickson told EW that fans shouldn’t expect to wait as long for new eps as they did between the show’s first two seasons.

“It [has] always been a show that we’re always very careful with and very meticulous about how exactly we’re telling the story,” Erickson said in an interview. “That was the case on season 1 as well — actually, I think season 1 took about the same amount of time as season 2, but the difference is people weren’t waiting for it at that time. Nobody knew what it was.”

He continued, “But having said that, having done it twice now, there is more of a sense of understanding procedurally what works and how to streamline it, so our goal is never to draw out people’s pain for three years. And I hope that we don’t have to do that again.”
