Tulsa King has been a major hit for the Paramount+ streaming service since its debut in 2022. While its second season ended in November 2024, production on Season 3 is expected in the very near future. Martin Starr, who plays Bodhi in the Sylvester Stallone-led gangster drama, teased what’s to come.

In a new interview with Collider at SXSW, Starr revealed, “I mean, I’ve only just read the first two scripts.” The actor, who was at the film festival promoting his new project, the short film Out for Delivery, also shared, “We start production next week.”

The gangster Dwight Manfredi may be the backbone of Tulsa King, but the show has some other fascinating characters like Bodhi, Grace and Tyson.

Starr added that he couldn’t say much about Season 3. “I can’t tell you anything that I’ve read in those episodes, but I am excited. The new season is going to be a lot of fun. It looks already like there’s going to be a lot of action, and there are some loose ends that may or may not get tied up,” he said.

Stallone is Expected to Get a Raise for Season 3

Shortly after the Season 2 finale of Tulsa King aired, Stallone, who, in addition to starring in the series as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, also serves as an executive producer, was finalizing a new deal to continue the series for two more years. At that time, Stallone’s deal would have garnered him another raise. The actor made $1.5 million per episode in Season 2 – an increase from the $750,000 per episode he got in Season 1.

Season 2 of Tulsa King has a 100% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, with five reviews, and a 78% audience score with more than 250 ratings. The series as a whole has an 89% critic score and an 83% audience score on the review aggregator.

Tulsa King Season 2 Broke Viewership Records

When Season 2 premiered in September, it did so with record-breaking numbers. Tulsa King’s season-opening episodes reached 5.4 million active sub-households in its first week, which is the streaming equivalent of viewers. On the day of its premiere, the show drew 2 million viewers globally, which was a new record for a Taylor Sheridan series.

Sheridan, who is behind successful shows like Yellowstone, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, and Landman, created Tulsa King, which follows Stallone’s Manfriedi after he is released from a New York prison and then relocates to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he sets up a new criminal organization. The series, in addition to Stallone and Starr, also features Andrea Savage, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Garrett Hedlund, Dana Delany, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, and Frank Grillo.

The first two seasons of Tulsa King are streaming on Paramount+.
