Two Capes Lookout, a new glamping resort on the Oregon coast, has officially opened its doors, offering a unique blend of modern accommodations and natural surroundings.

Located in Tierra Del Mar, just two hours from Portland, the resort spans 58 acres and features geodesic domes and mirrored cabins designed to provide an immersive outdoor experience while maintaining high-end comforts.

With more than 40 acres of undeveloped land, the resort integrates old-growth forests, wetlands, and a historic quarry with a year-round waterfall, creating an environment that caters to travelers seeking a balance between nature and luxury.

The property’s 15 geodesic domes range in size from 294 to 404 square feet, each featuring high ceilings, heating units, and access to shared bathhouses. The four 227-square-foot mirrored cabins, on the other hand, are equipped with heated floors, a private bathroom, and a wet bar.

“I aimed for a Pacific Northwest-inspired, yet fresh feel,” said Max Humphrey, the property’s interior designer. “[I drew inspiration] from the outdoors, where greenery and blue are everywhere—the idea was to blend the interior spaces with the natural surroundings.”

The resort’s founders, Anna and Kevin Gindlesperger, have also partnered with local businesses and outfitters to offer curated experiences that highlight the region’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities.

Guests can engage in activities such as kayaking the Nestucca River, fishing for lingcod and Dungeness crab with Dory Boat Fishing, or exploring local geology with rockhounding excursions.

“We believe that once people experience the tranquility and natural beauty of this area, they will fall in love with it—just as we have,” the cofounders said in a report by Travel and Leisure.

For outdoor hospitality operators, Two Capes Lookout represents a growing trend in experiential lodging, where guests seek immersive stays that go beyond traditional accommodations.

The integration of sustainable design, partnerships with local businesses, and a focus on blending indoor luxury with the outdoors could serve as a model for industry professionals looking to enhance their offerings.

Nightly rates start at $275 for geodesic domes and $346 for mirrored cabins, reflecting the premium experience that today’s travelers are willing to invest in for a memorable stay.
