  • United Airlines opened a grab-and-go style airline lounge in Houston Airport.
  • The “Club Fly” features an on-site coffee barista, snacks, and meals.
  • The Houston Airport location is the second Club Fly in United’s network, with Denver being the first.

Travelers have a new way to refuel before their next flight.

United Airlines recently opened a new lounge at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), designed for travelers who are on the go and seeking a quick snack or beverage instead of a full lounge experience.

The airline’s new Club Fly is located on the south end of Terminal B, which is primarily used by United Express for short route trips. United stated that more than 50 percent of its passengers at IAH are connecting, and the Club Fly concept was created to provide efficient service to these types of travelers.

“Designed for on-the-go United Club members, Club Fly offers a club experience that matches the ways travelers’ needs have evolved, especially when they’re pressed for time,” United Airlines’ Head of Club and Lounge Program Alexander Dorow shared in a statement with Travel + Leisure. “Not all customers travel the same way and that encourages us to constantly look at new opportunities to add value to our club program and support travelers throughout their entire journey.”

The lounge has a variety of stations including a full-service coffee bar with an on-site barista, as well as large screens displaying departure information for upcoming flights. The club’s design spotlights the signature royal blue of United Airlines, along with the company’s logo and ample ambient light. The snacks include individually packaged fruit such as strawberries and grapes, as well as salads. The menu also includes a water bottle refill station, soft drinks, wraps, and sandwiches.

United Club members and passengers traveling internationally with premium cabin tickets have access to the Club Fly, as well as the other lounges. Travelers scan their own boarding pass, and the entry gates automatically open, without ever communicating with a live agent.

The Houston Airport location is the second Club Fly in United’s network. The inaugural grab and go lounge opened at Denver International Airport in 2022, where over 300,000 customers have visited, according to the airline.
