Unity Beach, one of the UK’s largest family holiday parks, has undergone a significant transformation as it prepares for the upcoming season.

The 240-acre park in Brean, Somerset, has seen a £15 million investment under its new ownership since late 2024, introducing several new features aimed at enhancing the guest experience.

The investment has led to the addition of a new entertainment venue, a pub, a sports café, revamped entertainment programming, and an enhanced dining experience.

According to a report by Devon Live, these updates build on existing attractions such as the popular Brean Splash Waterpark, which remains free for guests, and Brean Play, an indoor play area catering to younger visitors.

The park’s new leadership includes two prominent figures in the UK holiday sector: former Butlin’s Managing Director Dermot King and Mark Seaton, the former MD of Cove UK

Their focus is on developing a collection of family-oriented parks that celebrate the classic British seaside holiday.

Among the latest offerings is The Wonky Donkey pub, which serves food from breakfast until late, providing a varied menu designed for families.

The Sports Café blends traditional games such as pool, shuffleboard, and darts with virtual reality experiences, aiming to create a versatile entertainment space for guests of all ages.

The venue also serves food and drinks, making it a convenient spot to watch live sports.

Meanwhile, the Pavilion Theatre features a full-day entertainment schedule, including Wake ‘n’ Shake fitness sessions, interactive art classes, circus performances, and pirate-themed activities.

For holiday park operators and outdoor hospitality professionals, Unity Beach’s transformation reflects a growing industry trend toward diversifying entertainment and dining options to create a more immersive guest experience.

With visitor expectations evolving, investments in multi-faceted attractions that blend traditional holiday elements with modern entertainment could offer a competitive advantage.

Unity Beach continues to emphasize evening entertainment, incorporating live bands, tribute performances, and family pantomimes. Guests also have access to Brean Splash Waterpark, which includes a six-lane swimming pool, a dedicated splash zone, and multiple waterslides.

During warmer months, outdoor water activities are available. Those booking directly with the park receive complimentary entry to Brean Play, which features separate play zones for different age groups.

Additional amenities include discounted access to Brean Golf Club, with a 50% reduction on green fees for the 18-hole course, and exclusive discounts at Brean Theme Park.

A fishing lake is available for those with a rod license, and the park’s location offers direct access to seven miles of sandy coastline.

The broader Somerset area provides further tourism appeal, with nearby attractions such as Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Tor, and Cheddar Gorge.

Pricing for Easter stays starts at £77 per person for a three-night visit or £66 per person for a four-night midweek stay, based on a family of four in a Bronze two-bedroom holiday home.

Additional accommodation options include upgraded holiday homes and luxury lodges with hot tubs. The park also has more than 200 touring pitches available.

For industry professionals, Unity Beach’s redevelopment highlights the strategic importance of reinvestment and diversification in the holiday park sector.

As consumer expectations shift toward more comprehensive leisure experiences, parks that enhance their offerings with entertainment, food and beverage upgrades, and expanded activity options may better position themselves for long-term success.
