Uzumaki’s New 25th-Anniversary Merchandise Add Junji Ito’s Artwork to Clothes, Chopsticks & More

The second series of Uzumaki items from ShoPro releases one year after the “true” 25th anniversary of the manga’s conclusion, which was also the same year as the release of the now infamous Uzumaki anime adaptation. Despite its issues, the series made the story more well-known than ever, and now, fans can add the spice of the spiral to their lives in different ways. Two of these are articles of clothing in the form of a denim jacket and a sukajan jacket, the latter of which stars Azami in one of the series’ most horrifyingly iconic scenes. A poster of Azami is also available, with the character also featuring on a white furoshiki cloth, a fan, a chopstick holder and one of the plates released as a set by the company. A multipurpose holder displays the visage of Shuichi’s father after he succumbs to the call of the spiral, with different scenes and characters showcased on the other plates in the aforementioned series and a green furoshiki cloth.

Both types of jackets are available in medium, large and extra large sizes. The plate series is a set of five that goes for around US$71, while the denim jacket and sukajan are priced at roughly US$117 and US$226, respectively. The A3 Azami poster is US$57, and the furoshiki cloths are around US$42. Lastly, the chopstick set is ~US$32, while the fan is about US$50 and the holder is ~US$44 USD. These price points leave fans with several options to choose from, whether they be fashion-forward or looking for the perfect utensils and plating for a particularly disturbing dinner. While the items might not have been sold in time to watch the Uzumaki show, they showcase just how popular Ito’s works and artwork have become and how much fans just can’t get enough of the horrifying distortions of the spiral.
