Following its November 2022 release, Wednesday became a worldwide phenomenon. After a long break, Season 2 is confirmed to hit Netflix sometime this year, and the promo for the new season is just getting started.

There are few details about the plot of Wednesday Season 2, as the cast and crew kept the details under wrap. However, as Wednesday officially wrapped filming in early December 2024 after a production delay, it offered an official look at Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday. Now, the streamer treated fans with a five-second creepy footage that will leave fans wanting all episodes on the platform as soon as possible.

Netflix Rebooting 51-Year-Old TV Show With The Vampire Diaries Writer

A classic TV show is getting reimagined at Netflix.

Although the clip is not long or anywhere close to a teaser or a trailer, it does reveal something many fans wanted to know: Hunter Doohan’s Tyler Gapin will continue to be a big part of the story. The creepy footage starts with a location already teased in a previous Halloween clip, Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital. There, Tyler hangs in chains by a door and looks up to see Wednesday there. The video’s caption reads, “You’re not ready for Wednesday S2.”

It’s unclear what makes Wednesday want to visit Tyler again, but her former love interest turned out to be Season 1’s villain, the Hyde. There is a lot more to explore about Tyler and the Hyde, and he might be the key element to solving a possible new mystery. Tyler was taken at Willow Hill at the end of Season 1, and, while he seemed evil at the end of the first season, the short, creepy clip shows him look more human, which might set him on a redemption path, without Miss Thornhill/ Lauren Gates’ manipulation.

‘Definitely A Long Season:’ Stranger Things Actor Shares Details About Season 5 Episode Runtimes

Finn Wolfhard opens up about the “film-length” Season 5 episodes.

Following its release on the platform in 2022, Wednesday became the biggest series on the platform at that time. Following the release of the new season of Squid Game, this changed, as the South Korean dystopian thriller series has since beaten Wednesday with Season 1 alone, with 265.2 million views for Squid Game Season 1, compared to Wednesday Season 1’s 252.1 million. Season 2 boasts 173.7 million so far, while Wednesday has yet to release Season 2.

The new story will be bigger, and there will be multiple changes. Jenna Ortega, who is now an executive producer in Season 2, promised less romance for the character, and there won’t be another love triangle, as Percy Hynes White, who played Xavier Thorpe in Season 1, won’t be returning. She also shared that she wanted Season 2 to be more horror, and, from the looks of it, it might be the case.

Who Stars in Wednesday Season 2

Aside from Ortega and Doohan, there are multiple returning stars. Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Georgie Farmer (Ajax) will also come back, with Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Deputy Ritchie Santiago) bumped up to series regulars. Jamie McShane (Sheriff Donovan Galpin) and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester) will have guest starring roles.

There is also a big list of newcomers, as Wednesday Season 2 welcomes Steve Buscemi will play Barry Dort, Billie Piper to play Capri, Joanna Lumley will join the cast as Grandmama, and Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn. The new cast includes Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor, with Addams Family actor Christopher Lloyd, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo are also set to have cameo roles. Lady Gaga has also been cast in an undisclosed role.

Wednesday Season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
