In Genshin Impact, there are elemental gems for each element. These gems are used to ascend characters with a matching Vision. For Dendro characters, the necessary elemental gem is Nagadus Emerald.

Like all of the elemental gems, Nagadus Emerald comes in four qualities. In ascending order, they are Slivers, Fragments, Chunks, and finally, Gemstones. These gems can be found in various ways, which we’ll outline here.
Which Characters Use Nagadus Emerald in Genshin Impact

Most Dendro characters, as of now, are from Sumeru, though there are a few from other regions. The element only became playable when Sumeru was released.
Here are the quality levels they’ll need at each ascension level:
Ascension Level |

These are the playable characters who wield a Dendro Vision, and therefore, use Nagadus Emerald (and Nahida!):
Bosses That Drop Nagadus Emerald in Genshin Impact
Most elemental gem farming can be done by defeating bosses, as this is the most efficient way to earn them in decent quantities.
When it comes to the Dendro gem, only a few regular bosses are currently capable of rewarding Nagadus Emerald:
The higher the level of the boss, the better their gem drops can be, as shown here:

Trounce Domains That Drop Nagadus Emerald in Genshin Impact
Currently, there is only one trounce domain boss that has Nagadus Emerald among its rewards.
The levels at which each quality level can be earned are as follows:

Other Ways to Get Nagadus Emerald in Genshin Impact

There are some additional methods for earning Nagadus Emerald other than fighting bosses, though these aren’t always as reliable.
Daily Commissions
Each day, the player receives four daily commissions from the Adventurers’ Guild. After completing all four, they can head over to any branch and receive some bonuses from Katheryne.
Among these rewards are typically some elemental gem Slivers. Unfortunately, which ones they are is random, and they’re only Slivers, the lowest quality. But, players should typically complete their daily commissions for the Primogems, anyway, so the elemental Slivers are a free bonus.
Crafting
By heading over to and using a crafting bench, players can upgrade lower-quality gems into higher quality levels. This works at a 3:1 ratio, as follows:
Ingredients |
Mora |
Product |

---|---|---|---|---|
3x Sliver |

300 |

1x Fragment |
3x Fragment |

Conversion
Alongside crafting lower-level gems into better qualities, a crafting bench can also be used to convert one element’s gems into another. To do this, the player needs some Dust of Azoth, which can be purchased from Paimon’s Bargains.
This is how much Dust of Azoth is needed to convert each level of gem from one element to another:
Gem level |
Dust of Azoth required |
---|---|
Sliver |

Fragment |
3 |
Chunk |
9 |
Gemstone |

Nagadus Emerald can be created from Varunada Lazurite, Vajrada Amethyst, Vayuda Turquoise, Shivada Jade, Prithiva Topaz, or Agnidus Agate.
Event Rewards
The final way to find elemental gems is to participate in time-limited events. Most events feature a reward shop or direct rewards for completing certain challenges within the time period.
Often, these event rewards can include limited quantities of elemental gems.
