Dolly Parton had one question for Sabrina Carpenter before signing on for their “Please Please Please” collab: Please please please could she take out the “F” bomb in the chorus?

In an interview with Knox News posted on Tuesday, the “Jolene” singer revealed she had a hard and fast rule for Carpenter.

“Of course, she can talk a little bad now and then,” Parton said. “I told her, I said, ‘Now, I don’t cuss. I don’t make fun of Jesus. I don’t talk bad about God, and I don’t say dirty words, on camera, but known to if I get mad enough.”

That’s why Carpenter ended up changing the lyrics in the “Please Please Please” chorus from “motherf—er” to “I beg you, don’t embarrass me like the others.” And Parton was pleasantly surprised at how easygoing the young “Espresso” singer was all throughout their country-fied duet.

“She was so sweet,” Parton said, before shouting out some previous collabs she’s done. “And Beyoncé’s great, and Miley [Cyrus], you know I love her. So I’m just having fun with all of it.”

Parton previously appeared on Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter, which also featured an updated version of “Jolene.” Meanwhile Parton has worked with Cyrus many times due to their close relationship as godmother and goddaughter.

When asked who she wanted to collab with next? “Whoever calls me that I like,” Parton said. “I’ll I say, ‘Yeah, I’ll do that!'”

When Carpenter first dropped the news in February that she and Parton teamed up for a remix of her popular song “Please Please Please,” she referenced Parton’s dislike of curse words. “She wouldn’t want me to swear but holy s––!!!!!” Carpenter wrote on social media.

This is Parton’s first interview since the death of her longtime husband, Carl Dean, on March 3. Parton previously released a statement announcing Dean’s death and later followed it with a message on Instagram.

“This is a love note to family, friends, and fans,” the country legend wrote. “Thank you for all the messages, cards, and flowers that you’ve sent to pay your respects for the loss of my beloved husband, Carl. I can’t reach out personally to each of you, but just know it has meant the world to me.”

She then referenced her 1974 song “I Will Always Love You” (later covered by Whitney Houston), adding, “He is in God’s arms now and I am okay with that. I will always love you.”
