During the Wish Magic quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players will manage to free the Magic Carpet from the huge sandstorm located in the Central Market. However, you won’t be able to equip it as a companion yet, as first you must unlock Jasmine and Aladdin to invite them to Dreamlight Valley.
The Wish Magic quest is quite fun as it is heavily related to the Aladdin movie. Dreamers are sent on a wild search to find the ‘echo’ of Aladdin’s three wishes. It is necessary to fill the Golden Lamp with the wishes essences to destroy the sandstorms and protect Agrabah.

How To Trigger The Wish Magic Quest In DDV
The Wish Magic quest is triggered right after you create the Gold Lamp during the Breaking Through quest in DDV. After translating the Ancient Tome and crafting the Lamp, Jasmine reveals that you need to collect wish magic. Basically, every time the Genie makes a wish come true for Aladdin, there is a chance that the wish leaves an ‘echo’ or residue behind. Speak with Aladdin and ask about his wishes if desired and then Dreamers must head to various locations to collect some wish magic.
Remnant Of The First Wish Location In DDV
Since Aladdin was in the sand when he wished for the first time, head outside the walls of Agrabah and approach the quicksand pond. Keep fishing until the remnant of the first wish appears. While completing this task, players will also catch some Quicksand Mud. Keep it as you’ll need it later.
How To Solve The Fountain Puzzle In DDV
Talk to Jasmine about the second wish, and it seems to be related to water, as Aladdin was saved from drowning by using his second wish. She leads you to the fountain she was building, but it’s not working anymore. Dreamers must collect some materials in DDV to activate it and solve the puzzle to get the remnant of the second wish. The materials are:
- Gold Share x40: Destroy rock obstacles in Agrabah.
- Quicksand Mud x3: Fish in the quicksand pond outside Agrabah.
Once the Fountain Pipes are done, place them at the top to fix the fountain. Solving the puzzle requires rotating some tiles to allow water to flow into the fountain. Rotate all the tiles according to the surrounding water pipes until the puzzle is complete. Once the fountain is functioning, it will drop the remnant of the second wish as well as a blue key.
Genie’s Sparkles Location In DDV
For the final wish where Aladdin wished for Genie to be free, it was done on a balcony overlooking the palace. To find Genie’s Sparkles, head to the balcony where you met Aladdin for the first time and grab the black and white sparkles.
Next, use the Alchemy Table to combine all remnants and obtain the Lamp Enchantment. After Jasmine manages to put the enchantment and the Gold Lamp together, players will be able to wield it and absorb the powerful sandstorm, as well as the minor ones scattered around the markets. This will free the Magic Carpet, but will not unlock it as a companion yet.
